Adam Smith College are running a series of information days and courses that are perfect for lone parents looking to get back into work. Whether you are trying to get back into work or education, thinking of starting your own business or looking to improve your skills, Adam Smith has some courses that are perfect for you. Have a look below to see what’s coming up over the next few months. Steps up to Success is a course especially designed for you if you need a helping hand back into work or education. The course offers you the change to experience a variety of courses from basic IT to Life Skills, all delivered in a supportive environment. Steps up to Success is delivered with you in mind, with family friendly hours and support for childcare, you will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment. Attendance – the course runs on weekdays Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9.30am and 2.30pm, starting 24th August, 2009. Location – Adam Smith College, Levenmouth Campus, Victoria Road, Leven Retail Skills Academy A 12-week pre-employment retail training course, plus 6 weeks work placement. What you study: · Introduction to retailing · Customer Service · Merchandising · Selling Skills Attendance – Commences week beginning 24th August, 2009. Up to 16 hours per week. Location – Adam Smith College, Priory Campus, Victoria Road, Kirkcaldy and Adam Smith College, Levenmouth Campus, Victoria Road, Leven On completion of this 12 week course you will be given the opportunity to undertake a work placement with a local employer. During your placement you will embark on an SVQ Level 2 in Retailing. You are guaranteed an employment interview with your placement provider. Travel expenses will be paid.
