Fife Gingerbread are a registered charity established in 1987. Based in Leven and covering all of Fife, we provide a wide variety of services to lone parent families and to local communities.

Support we offer includes:

Face to Face Support

1:1 Support/Home Visits

Our Support Workers can visit you in your home to provide face to face support. This can include helping you with anything you need whether it's emotional support, practical support, signposting to another organisation or just having someone to share your troubles with. We also provide advocacy and can come with you to important meetings etc.

Groups

Our Groups run regularly during the school term. Led by our team of Support Workers, these groups allow lone parents to come together in a friendly atmosphere where they can meet others in a similar situation.

Creches are provided and groups are free.

Content of the groups is extremely varied but can include things like confidence building, learning skills such as cooking, crafts, fitness, personal safety and much more.

For more information visit our Groups page.

Student Support

Our dedicated Student Support Worker can help you with anything you need to help you get back into education. She can visit you to discuss your options, take you to view colleges, help you prepare for interviews, take you to interviews or help you through the minefield of childcare or benefit implications.

For more information or to get in touch, see our Student Support page.

Family Activities

Throughout the year we have a wide variety of events for our members and their families. This includes Summer Fun Days where everyone can get together and just have fun! These take place all across Fife, are completely free.

Christmas

At Christmas we have been lucky enough in the past to receive generous donations of presents from local individuals and businesses. If we receive any donations, we try to help those families who find themselves with nothing for their children over the Christmas period. We can't guarantee presents but do try our best to help those in particular need over the holidays.

Opportunities

Buddy Project

Our unique Buddy Project helps to link lone parents with volunteers who have been in a similar situation. The parents get someone who understands what they are going through, can help them through difficult times and sometimes can just be a person to lend a sympathetic ear or get them out of their house for a couple of hours.

For the Buddies themselves, this provides an opportunity for training and to learn new skills as well as to feel they are helping their communities. For more information visit the Buddy Project page.

Volunteering Opportunities

We often provide Volunteering Opportunities both within our office and at our events. Our strong band of volunteers represent the organisation and help complement the staff.
