Fife Gingerbread are happy to report that Fife Council’s draft budget was passed by councillors on Thursday 21st February, which included the proposal for Fife Gingerbread to receive £60k for three years.
The addition funding is a welcomed boost to the charity, having been searching for funding since mid-January in response to a funding crisis, which put 253 families at risk of losing vital support.
Rhona Cunningham, CEO of Fife Gingerbread, said “Everyone in the organisation is delighted that the proposal in the draft budget was approved by councillors. Over the last few weeks we have highlighted the impact we have in Fife and the risk to local families if we don’t find funding, and we are so pleased that councillors and senior council officials have listened to our concerns”
Rhona added “We are not out of the woods yet though, and we continue to hold talks with Fife Council, Scottish Government, and other funders in a bid to improve our current position.”
