Family Approach
Family Approach: supporting families living in priority communities in Fife to overcome barriers to training, employment, and education.
Family Approach is a partnership between Fife Gingerbread and Citizens Advice & Rights Fife, supporting families to recognise and build on their strengths. We work alongside individuals and families to nurture confidence, strengthen resilience, explore income maximisation and reduce isolation. By taking a whole-family approach and moving at a pace that feels right for each person, we support positive, lasting progress into education, training, and employment.
Who will we support?
Families with 3 or more children
Families where a parent or child has a disability
Families with a child under the age of 1
Families with a parent under the age of 25
Ethnic minority families
Lone parent families
What will we do?
What will we do?
Build relationships with parents through one-to-one support, including home visits
Provide holistic support through the ups and downs of family life
Offer family learning opportunities that bring families together through learning and play
Support families to build confidence, develop skills, and connect with their local community through group work and activities
Connect families with other services to help address challenges such as housing, health, and education
Provide support with Child Maintenance
Offer employability support when parents feel ready to take steps towards work
Support financial well-being through benefits advice, money management, income maximisation, budgeting, and debt advice
Support parents into further education, training, or employment, including help with CVs, applications, interview preparation, and access to training, traineeships, and family-friendly opportunities
