Making it Work for Families

Working together for your family’s future.

Making it Work for Families is a partnership project that brings together staff from Fife Gingerbread, Clued Up, Citizens Advice & Rights Fife and Fife Intensive Rehabilitation & Substance Use Team. The team works collaboratively to offer whole family support that includes parental support, youth work, family learning, groups, money advice and community rehabilitation.

Who do we support?

  • Lone parent, low-income or unemployed family

  • P7,  S1 and/or S2 pupil living at home who is struggling to engage with or attend school

  • Working with schools in the Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth areas

  • Current, historic or at risk of substance use

What do we do?

We work with each family to provide support – taking a whole family approach that meets the needs of each individual to progress. There will be support available to every household member with our experienced multi-agency team.

Support activities will include:

  • One-to-one support for parents/carers and young people.

  • Fun and positive learning activities for the whole family.

  • Groupwork - including confidence building, cooking and training.

  • A youth work approach with outdoor education and team building activities.

  • Opportunities to meet and chat to other families, including fun holiday groups.

  • Financial inclusion activities to check entitlements, income and budgeting

  • Rehabilitation for families requiring intensive support with substance use.
