Meet Our Board

The Fife Gingerbread Board of Directors is made up of professional individuals with wide ranging specialised skills who are the apex of the organisation’s management hierarchy and help to govern and define the strategy and vision of Fife Gingerbread. They use their expertise to govern each aspect of the organisation to ensure that it is being run effectively and properly.

Stewart Christie
Chair of the Board

I first came into contact with Fife Gingerbread in 2010 when I worked for the Local Authority. I was always impressed by the drive and passion to do the very best for the parents and families we work with. Having joined the Board of Trustees, this view has been strengthened and through the COVID pandemic, the efforts of the whole team have been inspirational to me. It was an honour to take over as the Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2020 and I look forward to continuing to support the organisation in any way I can.

I began my career working in the private sector in a number of roles within engineering. I then moved to the Local Authority and was involved in Locality and Regeneration Management for 16 years. I am now involved with the delivery of training for the land based sector within a not for profit sharing company based in Fife. I have always had a passion for equality and opportunities for ALL and have spent the last 20 years working in communities with significant needs.

Lisa Bray
Treasurer

I am a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and the owner of Eden Fyfe Accounts based in Glenrothes.  Alongside our accounting and business advisory services, the company is committed to supporting the local community and fundraises every year for charities.

To help support businesses and employment opportunities in Fife I am a Board member of Business Gateway Fife and Developing Young Workforce. I also sit on the Board of a local business in the care for young people sector.

As a mum of two young girls, I see and hear the pressures that affect disadvantaged families in Fife and am keen to bring my skills and knowledge to Fife Gingerbread to help in any way I can.

Jemma Forbes
Company Secretary

I was delighted to take up a role on the Board of Fife Gingerbread Trust. Working locally, I was aware of the great things that FG do for the local community and how the service they provide can be invaluable to local parents and families. I have worked as a family law solicitor in Fife for over 10 years and so I can see the benefits to parents and families when they receive a little help or support, especially if they feel like they are on their own. The projects, the staff and the volunteers at FG are inspirational and I hope to be able to assist the Trust in continuing to provide these services, using my legal background, as well as my knowledge of local families.

Board Members

Lynne Dunn
Experienced manager within Employability

I'm Lynne and I am an experienced Manager within Employability. In my 20 plus years working in employability, I have gained an insight into how individuals that need help the most live their lives, often living day to day and on the poverty line. I am passionate about helping people and strongly believe that Fife Gingerbread makes a huge contribution to many people’s lives, and I am pleased to be part of that.

Kevin Sayer
Board member

My connection with Fife Gingerbread goes back a number of years and intensified when I was the Cowdenbeath Area Community Manager for Fife Council.  In that post the Area team worked together with FGB to fund programmes to combat poverty and improve employability.  My passion was and remains addressing and alleviating poverty in all its forms – Food Poverty, Fuel Poverty, Child Poverty and Poverty of Opportunity.

Since retiring from the Council, I have volunteered at East End Park – cleaning and maintenance of the ground; joined Cycling Without Age – taking older people and people with disability around the Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline; and am delighted to have been invited to join the FGB board.

In the rest of my spare time I enjoy music, travel, football and cricket.

Stephen Heslop
Board Member

I am delighted to be appointed to the board of FG who do some excellent work locally supporting families and children.

I had the pleasure to meet some of the team over a year ago and was amazed by their enthusiasm and passion for helping people who really need additional support.

I am the Managing Director of a local manufacturing company and having been in industry for many years in a similar capacity recognise the benefits of having a truly flexible workforce.

We employ and support a number of lone parents and I can really see the benefits to both the team members and company.
