I am now the longest serving staff member of Fife Gingerbread so obviously love my job to still be here. I manage the Business Services Team who provide a 1st rate service behind the scenes, which then allows the support workers and volunteer co-ordinators to concentrate on their roles of helping our families.

Working for Fife Gingerbread has and continues to be a privilege. My passion is to enable young people and children and it is a joy to work with colleagues who also have a passion to support the rights of families particularly around inequalities and discrimination.  The tenacity of our staff ensures that we continue to engage with families in a dignified manner, the parents are supported have the knowledge and tools required to meet the needs for their children and, everyone has opportunities to grow learn and develop and work towards their aspirations.

Hi I'm Claire McKay, volunteer coordinator for Kirkcaldy/Cowdenbeath area. I have volunteered with fife gingerbread on and off for around 4 years before I joined as the volunteer coordinator. As a lone parent myself I have a great understanding of how life is not just a straight road and has many twist and turns which is why I love seeing families and volunteers progress in life. On the weekends you can find me on many outdoor adventures or Paddleboarding with my son.

Hi I am Sandie, Volunteer Coordinator for Levenmouth and Glenrothes. I have been with Fife Gingerbread for 10 years now. I love my job especially seeing people progressing into and through our volunteer programme. I love Gaelic singing and walking my dog Roguey.

Roma Crawford

Hi, I’m Roma and I have been with Fife Gingerbread for quite a while.  I have recently moved from being a Volunteer Coordinator to a Support Worker and I am absolutely loving it.  Supporting parents to remove barriers allowing them to make changes in their lives is challenging but incredibly fulfilling.  Outwith work you can normally find me with my family or socialising with friends, I also occasionally visit the gym when I am motivated enough!  Oh and I am also normally the one singing along to songs, out of tune and with the wrong words 😊

I have been helping individuals successfully secure employment, undertake training or access further education for over 30 years now and, although I’m starting to get on a bit, the feeling I get from being involved in their individual journeys will never get old.

The support I am able to offer though is only made stronger by the support I get through my colleagues at Fife Gingerbread who are all passionate about the work they do whilst engaging, supporting and progressing our parents.

Hi, I’m Meg and I am the support worker for the Making it Work project in the Glenrothes area.

I love helping people and watching them go from strength to strength, it is always such a privilege to be a part of someone’s journey! I enjoy being creative – painting, drawing, and generally crafty things. I enjoy wild water swimming, Mario Kart battles with my kids, movies and just generally being a big kid. Hi, I’m Melissa. I’m new to Fife Gingerbread as a Support Worker for Making it work for Families. I work in partnership with Cluedup, CARF and First. I have recently graduated with BA Hons in Community Education, my goal throughout was to end with a job where I can put my knowledge from this in to practice. So, I am very privileged to be part of the team. I think it’s important to work with people who share the same values as me, empowering families and building positive relationships. As a young mum myself, I know things can be tough, but I’ll make sure my positive nature is embedded in my work to encourage and support families ☺️

I am a new addition to the Fife Gingerbread, working as a support worker for the Early Years team.  I come with a wealth of experience, working with families and children ranging from early years right through to teenagers.  My passion is in outdoor learning as I have seen the benefits to all of having access to outdoor space, not only for learning but crucially for our mental health.  You will usually find me outdoors with my dogs, enjoying our amazing Scottish scenery.  The freedom to explore.

I also will work passionately to challenge the barriers that lone parents face to meaningful employment and develop new ways to raise Fife families out of poverty.  Hi I’m Angela. Apart from a short funding break I have worked with Fife Gingerbread for over 12 years. I feel very privileged to have been part of such a fantastic organisation and to have been involved in the learning and progression of so many parents and their children.   I enjoy leading a project now and supporting the team to reach their potential.  I find this really rewarding too. In my spare time, I love swimming, walking, cycling and reading. Just to keep things in balance, now and again I’ve also been known to enjoy a bit of socialising!
